Through My Eyes
This is a really cool concept that could have gone awefully cheesy - but didn't, thanks to the wonderful tool we all love: Photoshop.
"See the world through my eyes", by Micah Ganske is a ... well, you'll just have to go see for yourself, now won't you? Adobe promptly gave it its 2005 Design Achievement Award in Digital Photography, and deservedly so.
I think the work and thought that went into this project is awesome, the lighting on the hands (shot seperately and then layered into the picture with Photoshop) is astonishingly accurate - but, in some shots, the hands do look just a tad too lifeless. I first thought they were very skillfully made fake hands the photographer had attached to himself and teased into doing stuff while taking the photographs. My second thought was that he was shooting with some sort of lipstick camera, mounted to his head at eye level.
However it may all be though - I'll be looking forward to seeing more innovative stuff from Micah Ganske. He gives us all pause and forces us to admit that we're fascinated by the concept of seeing the world through somebody else's eyes.
